Regular henna is an orange-brown looking smooth, flowing paste, which stains the skin and colors hair. Black henna has a dye added to produce the black color. When applied, Hemani Henna feels cool and soothing.
It is recommended to wash the area where the Henna design is to be applied beforehand—but do not apply lotion or oil before application. After applying the Hemani Henna paste and waiting approximately 15 to 30 minutes for it to dry on the skin, carefully rinse off the Henna without rubbing; it will leave a lasting black stain design. Finally, rinse the dyed area under running water.
The henna design should last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on how quickly the area exfoliates. Keep the area moisturized with oil or lotion to help extend the life of your design.
Henna can also be applied to clean hair as a natural hair color. The henna bonds to the outside proteins of hair and functions naturally as a conditioner. It is highly recommended to perform a strand test before applying to your hair.
